Our Week in Review – April 5, 2009

Our-Week-In-Review-3

Overall, we’ve had a pretty good week around here.  Both kids have done a good job of getting their daily work done.  Ga’hoole Girl finished all her weekly work, but had trouble finishing it on time since she had track practice this week.  I think time management will be on the docket this week!

As I noted in another post, Wild Man has really stepped up his reading and even finished reading a novel.  He only read aloud to me a couple of times this week because of my headaches, but I’m very pleased to see how much he’s been reading on his own.  We also only did some spelling review instead of new spelling lessons, but that’s all part of living with chronic pain around here.  I have had to work a little more with Wild Man on getting his chores done diligently.  Sigh.  All part of growing up, as my dad would say.

Ga’hoole Girl finished her week of track practice pretty well.  She’s sore, but still managed to do some running yesterday.  She has developed a research question for her paper and has found her sources.  She’s now going to be collecting information over the next week or so.  We have been meeting a couple of times a week just to talk about the research project and I think it is working well.  She doesn’t seem very overwhelmed and I feel like she’s making progress.

SANY1418 We went to the Milwaukee Zoo yesterday.  It was their free day, so the place was quite crowded.  Despite that, we had a lot of fun.  We each had our favorite exhibits, but I think Ga’hoole Girl and I most enjoyed our skyride over the African exhibits.

So, how was your week?  Check out Weird, Unsocialized Homeschoolers to see how others did this week!

Headaches? Yuck. Are the allergy related? My Hubby's allergies have been acting up. The zoo sounds wonderful, I'm waiting for the weather to get nice so I can take my fellas, I can hardly wait.
