Links I Like

Here are some links you might find interesting!

Stuff Christians Like – The guy who tells you Christmas is a pagan holiday.

Your Brain by the Numbers – a really great graphic from Scientific American

The 66%: America’s Growing Underclass – Really? The implications of this are not good.

Saudi husbands ‘alerted by text’ if their wives leave the country – I can’t even imagine.

GPS Guided Trans-Atlantic Robot Boat – This is cool. A guy built a hobby boat that he’s trying to sail across the Atlantic. He launched today, but it looks like it got caught in a current and might have beached itself. Alas. But, I’m definitely going to be keeping up with this!

Nine Ways to Bide Your Time Waiting for The Hobbit – Actually, we won’t be having too much trouble. The Knitting Nest is doing a Nerd Knitting Night and we’re knitting some Fellowship of the Ring socks. Yeah, it’s not The Hobbit, but it’s Tolkein, so we get credit!!

From the Attorney General to the KKK in 1970

N.T Wright on Women Bishops in the Anglican Church

Rosie Girl would love this link about origami!

The Storm is Gone but the After-Storm Is Always Here - A friend of mine from high school who is now a pastor in New York writes about her church’s experience with Super-Storm Sandy.

Enjoy!!

Yet more support for homeschooling – teens are taking a long time to grow up because we have such low expectations.

The importance of both law and relationship.

More about pain and suffering.

More wisdom from Jared Wilson.

Constituencies in the science/religion debate.

Have fun!!

While PWM is trying to unclog the toilet, I’ll share some fun links I’ve found this week (particularly since I’m not sure how profound I can be when there’s plumbing occurring in the next room!).

For Heaven’s sake, folks, pull the rope!!

Links!!

First of all, why is the main character in the Zelda video games called Link?  And why is the good looking guy in Hairspray named Link?  Who names a person Link?  Oh, well.  Here are some interesting internet links (a more reasonable use of the word, by the way!).

An interesting collage of Disney animation showing how the animators re-used sequences.

If Jesus were on Facebook – too funny!!

Another great Stuff Christians Like post!

First Things has a tournament of novels.  They’re in Round 2 right now.

Interesting map of denominations.

Very sad news about a popular blogger.

Biologos is one of my favorite websites and this series is excellent.

That should keep you busy and off the streets for a day or so.  I hope to post more later in the week!

World’s Best Visual Illusions – this is way cool.

Doing “Church” – Great stuff from Compassion’s recent trip to India.

Cultural domination concern vs. evangelism opportunity – More provocative thoughts from Michael Spencer.

The Green Box – I thought everyone already tore up the top of the pizza box for plates.

My own LOLCat – Mr. Math Tutor and I made our own LOLCat with a picture of Silver.  Isn’t she cute!
