I agree with you that too many pray (do Bible Study, etc.) just to check it off their To Do list for the day. I've learned from my mom that talking to the Lord throughout your day is what He really desires and wants----a relationship with us. It draws you closer to Him. Also, I think when you experience the power of prayer in your life, it will change you. I remember how consistently my mom prayed for my dad through those "trying" years and always wondered if God heard. He did of course, but He only answered in His time which was 8 years later. A few years ago, I found that my mom prayed for me during my "trying" teenage years and is probably what saved me---God answered a mother's prayer. Oh how powerful they are for those who know! Thanks for the thoughts!
